Am-Cham Visa Referral Program

The AmCham Shanghai Visa Referral Program is a program administered by the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai in cooperation with the U.S. Consulate General Shanghai. It facilitates business visas for select AmCham Shanghai U.S. Corporate Member Company employees.

Direct hire employees of participating companies who are traveling to do legitimate company business are eligible for expedited visa interviews at a time reserved for AmCham Corporate Visa Program participants. Generally speaking, the interview time is shorter than a normal visa interview and AmCham Corporate Visa Program visa applicants usually have a much higher rate of acceptance for their applications. The program is limited to B-1, C-1, J-1, L-1, H-1B and H-3 visa applicants (dependents of J-1, L-1 and H1-B applicants are also eligible if they apply at the same time as the principal applicant). Companies may begin referring applicants as soon as their company applications are approved.

For additional details on the Am-Cham Visa Referral Program, contact the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai directly or refer to their website.

As of November 15, 2005 the U.S. Consulate General Shanghai, along with AmCham Shanghai, is extremely pleased to announce a significant new improvement to our AmCham Corporate Visa Program.

Beginning November 15, we will open membership in the program to non-American firms that have been AmCham Corporate Members for at least 6 months and also maintain a significant business presence in the United States.  We hope that many non-American firms will soon be able to enjoy the special benefits of the Corporate Visa Program, which, until now, have been available only to U.S.-based companies.

All program guidelines and application materials are available on the AmCham website at www.amcham-shanghai.org. For any procedural questions regarding the Corporate Visa Program, please contact cvp@amcham-shanghai.org.

We look forward to working with AmCham and all of its Corporate Members to continue the tremendous success of the Corporate Visa Program with this exciting new change.
