Avian Influenza

Meeting the Challenge of Bird Flu

This page contains links to United States Government and international health organization websites that describe the disease, where outbreaks have occurred, and what you can do to protect yourself. Please note that the vast majority of known human cases of bird flu have resulted from direct contact with poultry. While there are concerns about the possibility of an avian influenza pandemic involving human-to-human transmission, there is no evidence yet that this has or will occur.
