ADMINISTRATIVE CHECK NEEDED CITIC DB

If your last visa is currently valid, or has expired within the past year, and the front of the non-immigrant visa contains the words “CLEARANCE RECEIVED,”  you will may still use the “Drop-Box” program with CITIC BANK to submit your application.  CITIC Bank will then schedule you for an appointment and a brief interview at the US Consulate in Shanghai.

You must make a personal appearance at the US Consulate, however. Because you would otherwise normally qualify for faster service, CITIC Bank will assign you a much more convenient appointment time.  You do not have to make an appointment with our call center.

Your application is still subject to an administrative check, which we cannot waive.  In many cases, if you are approved for a non-immigrant visa, we may be able to return your visa within a few days.  However, in some cases, the administrative check procedure may take up to two months to complete.  We strongly encourage you to plan ahead for your intending US travel, and if qualified, to use our CITIC Bank Drop Box Program.

You must submit the following documents in English to CITIC Bank in order for us to start processing your application:

• A current copy of your resume or CV
• A detailed itinerary
• An invitation letter
• If applicable, a detailed description of the products/technology you wish to purchase or learn about in the United States
• If applicable, a detailed training schedule
• For F/J applicants, a copy of your research plan and your advisor’s web page
