Frequent Traveler Program Decision Tree

Q1:  Are you under 14 years of age OR above 79 years of age?

 “Yes” to Option A
 “No”  to Q2 below

Q2:  Are you applying in the place you usually live, or was your last visa issued from a US Non-Immigrant Visa Office in The People's Republic Of China?

“Yes” to Q3 below
“No”  not eligible for this program

Q3:  Is your previous visa currently valid or has expired within the last twelve months?

“Yes” to Q4 below
“No”  not eligible for this program

Q4:  Are you applying for the same type of visa? These additional documents are required if  you are  renewing the following types of visas:

    • F/M Visa:  Is the SEVIS (I-20) form with the same school indicated on your previous visa?
    • J Visa:  Is the SEVIS (DS-2019) form with the same institution indicated on your previous visa?
    • H/O/P/Q/L Visa: Is the Approval Notice (I-797) with the same workplace indicated on your previous visa?

“Yes” to Q5 below
“No”  not eligible for this program

Q5:  Do the words “CLEARANCE RECEIVED” appear on the front of your previous US non-immigrant visa? 

“Yes” to Option B
“No” to Q6 below

Q6:  Is the control number printed on your previous visa greater than 20073250000001?  The “Control Number” is the long number on the upper right corner of the visa.

“Yes” to Q7 below
“No”  to Option D

Q7:  Was your previous visa issued when you were 14 years of age or older?
 
 “Yes” to Option C
 “No” to Option D

After all of these above questions, CITIC / FAO staff should check the completion of the application package which includes the following items:

  • Valid passport containing valid/invalid US visa (if not, the invalid passport should be attached as well)
  • Completely filled-out application forms
  • One ply of the MRV fee receipt
  • Any supporting documents
     B visa:  invitation letter
     F/M visa:  valid I-20 and transcript for principle applicant
     J visa:  valid DS-2019 and invitation letter
     H/O/P/Q/L:  valid I-797 and a letter confirming continuing employment
  •  One EMS mailing label
